OSSTEM · TSIII SA SHORT
Short implant concept for limited bone height

The TSIII SA Short is designed for clinical situations in which the available vertical bone height requires the use of a short implant.

Implant length, gingival height and drilling depth must be considered together. Particularly in the posterior mandible, anatomical structures such as the mandibular canal must be taken into account during treatment planning.

DRILLING DEPTH · GINGIVAL HEIGHT
Distinguishing implant length and gingival height
Implant length refers to the implant body positioned within the bone. Depending on the Short implant version, a different gingival or collar height may additionally need to be considered.

The required drilling depth should therefore not be derived from the overall height of the implant alone. The selected implant version and the corresponding OSSTEM drilling protocol are decisive.
SHORT IMPLANT · DRILLING PROTOCOL
Short, coordinated drilling sequence
The Short implant protocol uses a drilling sequence coordinated with the implant geometry and implant length. Drill selection depends on implant diameter, bone quality and the applicable surgical protocol.
POSTERIOR MANDIBLE
Consider the mandibular canal during treatment planning
In situations with limited vertical bone height, preoperative assessment of the position of the mandibular canal and the inferior alveolar nerve is particularly important. Implant length and drilling depth must be determined according to the individual anatomy while maintaining the required safety distances.
OSSTEM · SA
SA Surface
The OSSTEM SA surface is created by sandblasting followed by acid etching. This produces a structured implant surface with macro- and micro-scale topography.
IMPORTANT · DRILLING PROTOCOL
The illustration provides an overview of the Short implant concept. For actual implant site preparation, only the OSSTEM instruments specified for the respective implant dimension and the current surgical protocol and Instructions for Use (IFU) are applicable.
CLINICAL NOTE
Implant selection, implant position, drilling depth, implant site preparation and loading time are determined by the treating clinician according to the individual clinical and anatomical situation. Current manufacturer instructions, surgical protocols and Instructions for Use (IFU) apply.
