SILK OR NYLON
Two materials, one needle
Both materials are available with the same cutting needle (19 mm, 3/8 circle). Silk is braided, soft and easy to knot. Nylon is a smooth monofilament that glides well through tissue and offers bacteria little to cling to. The choice is a matter of handling and preference.
SILK · BRAIDED
- Natural polyfilament, black and easy to see
- Coated with silicone and paraffin – smooth, supple surface
- Very good knotting, soft and pleasant to handle
- Triangular needle with sharp tip, passes through tissue easily
NYLON · MONOFILAMENT
- Synthetic monofilament with smooth surface
- Glides well through tissue, low memory effect
- Very tear-resistant even at small diameters
- Little bacterial adhesion, minimal tissue reaction
