OSSTEM EIR / EFR Kit – Implant Removal
Instrument set for removing failed or malpositioned implants by reverse torque – instead of a trephine drill. The surrounding bone is largely preserved, and re-implantation is often possible sooner. For TS, SS, KS and US – for purchase or as a loan kit. EIR (Easy Implant Removal) is the current Osstem name, EFR (Easy Fixture Removal) the previous one.

WHEN AN IMPLANT HAS TO COME OUT
Unscrew instead of drill out
With peri-implantitis, malposition or an implant that can no longer be restored, removal is often the only option. A trephine drill removes bone around the implant. The EIR kit instead releases the implant via its internal connection: a remover screw is anchored in the implant, then a high reverse torque is applied with the torque wrench – the implant breaks free from the bone and can be unscrewed.
PROCEDURE
In three steps
1 · Remover screw
Hand-tighten the matching remover screw (normal or fracture type), then tighten with the torque wrench: regular/wide 80 Ncm, mini 60 Ncm.
2 · Remover body
Seat the remover body by hand counterclockwise and turn counterclockwise with the torque wrench – up to 400 Ncm.
3 · Removal
Unscrew the implant, fix it in the implant wrench and release remover screw and remover body.
Hard bone: first relieve the cortex approx. 3 mm with the trephine drill – if the reference torque is exceeded, cortical bone must be removed.
